Canine Good Citizen Training in Franklin Square

We are AKC certified to give the Canine Good Citizen test, so we prep your dog and award the title in one place. In-home across Long Island and Queens, with no treats, prong collars, or e-collars.

The Gold Standard For Good Manners

The Canine Good Citizen title is the American Kennel Club's stamp that says your dog is genuinely well-behaved in public. Because we are a certified CGC evaluator, you do not have to train in one place and test in another. We get your dog ready and run the test ourselves, right in the settings your dog lives in.

CGC Questions

What Owners Ask Us Most

What is the Canine Good Citizen test?
The CGC is the American Kennel Club's ten-skill test of everyday good manners, such as greeting a stranger politely, walking on a loose leash, sitting for petting, and staying calm around other dogs. Passing earns your dog an official AKC Canine Good Citizen title.
Do you administer the test yourselves?
Yes. We are certified by the American Kennel Club to administer the Canine Good Citizen test, so we prep your dog and evaluate it without sending you to find a separate evaluator.
Does my dog need to be purebred or AKC-registered?
No. The CGC is open to all dogs, purebred or mixed. Any dog that can pass the ten skills can earn the title.
How long does it take to get CGC ready?
It depends on where your dog is starting. Dogs with solid basic obedience are often close already, while others need a few sessions to polish the skills. We will tell you honestly after the free consultation.
Why bother earning the CGC?
It is recognized proof your dog is well-mannered in public, and it is the common first step toward therapy-dog work and some apartment, insurance, and travel requirements.
